About Patchwork PlusPatchwork Plus has a long history in the Virginia Shenandoah Valley. First it was a dry goods store called The Clothesline. In 2000 it became Patchwork Plus under new owners. And finally on April Fools Day of 2014 we bought the store!
We are Susan, Cynthia, Mary, and Shirley - four ladies who love to laugh, celebrate, and quilt! Susan and Cynthia met over a wild game of spoons with their church youth group. They soon started meeting at the local tea shop along with Mary and Shirley to enjoy chatting, playing games, and making grandmother's flowers using English paper piecing. Cynthia had worked in a quilt shop in Fredericksburg before moving to the Valley and was active in Prayers and Squares in Fredericksburg and Harrisonburg. Susan, Mary, and Shirley are lifetime residents of the Valley and own other businesses. Combined, our team represents decades spent in the business and retail worlds. Two of us know the life of the pastor's wife, the other two are PKs (Pastor's Kids).
We love the customers of Patchwork Plus, and are blessed with a front row seat to your wonderful talent. But most of all, we wonder at the creativity of you! We enjoy the quest for the perfect fabric, the amazing work of your hands, and the dreams you have for your next project. Quilters are indeed some of the nicest people on earth!
We hope to make Patchwork Plus a place where everyone is welcome and where you will always be greeted by a smile. We intend to go the extra mile to help you with all your quilting needs, so if you don't see something you need please ask! We will try our hardest to track it down for you. We offer classes for all skill levels and hope to introduce a new generation to quilting. We also like to have fun, so we will be having wacky events and exciting trips planned for you.
So drop by, the door is open, and we are all waiting to see you, to help when we can, and share a laugh or two along the way.
